San Fernando

Long ago, when Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles were in the process of development, San Fernando was the main shopping area in the south (and still is!). This area holds several of the largest shopping centres in the south, with many convenience stores, furniture shops, car dealers, and some of the most well known clothing franchises. San Fernando is considered more of a local area rather than touristic, consisting mostly of flats, duplexes and houses. San Fernando offers a wide array of commercial establishments. For example, every Wednesday and Saturday, the area holds the local market fair where you can find unique items at great prices. Every year, San Fernando holds a carnival fair scheduled to take place a bit after Easter. The fair features amusement rides such as rollercoasters, go-karts, and even attractions for the little ones; you can try your luck by winning a goldfish if you hit the target three times with the ball!
